Balem 441 is a float hydraulic liquid level control valve for use in reservoirs.
It is a solenoid operated hydraulic control valve. In case if power failure,
it can be overridden mechanically by installing a pilot valve. It is suitable
for and safe at high pressure flow as it's opening and closing is both by solenoid
and mechanical pilot valve. It's corrosion resistance and thermal resistance
is excellent, and it will not contaminate the line fluid.

Principle of Operation

Open
When the water level in reservoir becomes low, solenoid valve opens by
the electronic signal of beginning of water supply and the chamber connecting
with solenoid valve inside of body becomes in the condition of atmospheric
pressure. Because the power in the same pressure is directly proportion
to the width and the lower part of piston is wider than the upper part
of disc, piston moves to upward by the water pressure and disc assembled
to piston opens and fluid can flow toward outlet. If it is impossible
to control electrically due to electricity off or breakdown of solenoid
vlave, transfer to the operation of mechanical pilot valve by opening
manual selector screw. At this time Bescon valve opens by the opening
of mechanic pilot valve when the water level becomes low.When the water
level in reservoir becomes low, the chamber inside of body becomes in
the condition of atmospheric pressure as opening pilot valve, piston moves
to upward by the water pressure because the lower area of piston is larger
than upper side of disc and disc assembled to piston opens at the same
time and fluid can flow toward outlet.
Close
When the water level in reservoir becomes high, solenoid valve closes
by the electric signal of high water level and the chamber pressure becomes
same with the inlet pressure by flow way through the chamber and liquid
room of inlet, fluid flowing toward outlet will close since disc closes
valve seat as moving downward by the weight of piston assembly, the power
of spring and all the powers to piston assembly. When solenoid valve doesn't
close due to the error of solenoid, mechanic pilot valve closes secondarily
pilot line and so Bescon valve closes safely.

As for Buildings. Apartments. Plants
- As a replacement for underground/roof top, low water level tanks ball type
float control valve.
- Substitute for high and low levels control mechanical valves and electrodes.
- Various types of oil tank float control.
Patents
Installation
- Refer to the standard piping diagram when installing the valve.
- Before installation, finish to clean pipeline.
- Only pilot valve made by Balem Co., Ltd may be fitted to this valve.
- It is recommended that a strainer be installed to prevent the valve malfunctioning
due to foreign particles entering into the system.
- An alarm receiver system should be installed in the control room for early
detection of overflow.
- Install a pressure reducing valve and automatic air vent valve in order
to prevent water hammer and noise when used on high dynamic pressure.
- Do not fit a butterfly valve on the inlet flange.
- The water level sensor must be placed as following order ;
- Low water level(pump start)
- High water level(pump stop)
- Warning water level(alarm control fail)
- Emergency stop(closing pilot valve)
